During a monthly staff meeting Jan. 5, 2015 all staff were informed of the Green School application process through presentations by Abby Cocke from the Baltimore Office of Sustainability; Joanna Pi-Sunyer, Green Schools Coordinator for Baltimore City Public Schools; and Brooks Binau, a Shriver Peaceworker focusing on Green Schools coordination for Lakeland Elementary / Middle School. Below please find the agenda for the meeting, staff sign-in sheet, and a copy of one of the presentations made to staff.
In addition, school staff were invited to participate in completing the green school application via a shared Google docs site. Teachers and staff from throughout the school added descriptions of their work in the various application sections as well as uploaded photographs. Members of the green team helped assemble the final draft of the application on a Weebly web site.

NorthBay Environmental Science Camp
Teachers accompany students during their stay at the NorthBay environmental science camp every fall for a week. There along the shores of the Bay staff learn together with students, investigating filters, invasive species, habitats and ecosystems. Outdoor educators focus on issues that challenge the health of the Chesapeake Bay, and encourage teachers and students to take their learning and apply it back at school and in their communities. Teachers learn inquiry investigation methods as well as how to organize and implement outdoor lessons.
